Just a brief update to share a few of our latest projects. In order to install the beam and remove the wall that will open the kitchen up to the family room, we needed to move the pile of flooring out of the way. Instead of moving it for the umpteenth time, we decided to go ahead and install the flooring in the master bedroom. We reused tongue and groove boards that we previously removed from the walls and ceilings from other areas of the home by just simply turning them over and securing them with the painted side down. This was our first hardwood floor install and the girls were 'excited' to help.
Jeff and a good friend of ours removed the wall between the kitchen and family room and installed the support beam. I'm not sure how just the two of them were able to raise that beam, but I've heard a few snippets of some close calls that day. I'm glad they didn't get hurt and I'm glad I wasn't there to see the near misses!
And last, but definitely not the least, we have the plumbing roughed in! We will have 2 1/2 baths with a laundry room off the kitchen.
The girls and I did a clean up day yesterday and we are hoping to get some more work done soon while the temps are doable. We had a beautiful Christmas with lots of family in from out of town. Jeff and I have been very busy with our jobs this year but we were both able to take some time off and really enjoy the holiday season. I'm very much looking forward to completing this project in 2023. It's going to be a good year, Happy New Year y'all!
